“‘Feminist,’ it seems, has ended up in the same syntactical purgatory as another once-useful, now-reviled term: liberal. Most people endorse what that word has historically stood for — integration, child labor laws, product safety — yet they treat the word itself like anthrax. Similarly, while it’s hard to imagine any young woman really wants to return to the days of barefoot, pregnant and making meatloaf, many now disdain the banner under which their gender fought for freedom. They scorn feminism even as they feast at a table feminism prepared.”

Riza, Riza, Riza! When you were graced with this title you stated: “”I would like to say thank you to God, my family, friends, and all of my supporters during this humbling yet rewarding journey to become Miss Universe Canada. I can’t begin to express my gratitude and excitement to represent Canada on the international stage. It’s an honour to represent our country and I ask you for your continued support and prayers.” …. and then you do THIS?! Do you think THIS is how to represent Canada?!?! An apology for disgracing one of our Nation’s most valued Uniforms would be in order. And none of this Rob Ford type of apology. Kindly ‘represent Canada on the international stage’ in proper form.
OMG! It is embarrassing.
